A Once in a 4-Year Event

It's Leap Day today, as you all know. This day won't return for another 4 years, so make the most of it and write a blog post.
The next Leap Day, in 2016 seems like so far away, doesn't it? Yet, 2012 seemed like a long time away from 2008, but here we are, and it seemed to fly by so past. We're already to March of 2012.
Interesting how time zooms by, isn't it, even though it seems to go slow?
That's the end of my musings on time, and I 'll just start being kind of random and saying what my top 3 movies to see this year are.

  1. The Hobbit

How could I not want to see it? It looks like it'll be awesome. Alas, I must wait until December though.

2. The Avengers

I am a big superhero fan. Captain America is my favorite, with Superman in second. I approached the Marvel movies a bit skeptically at first, but I changed my mind. The ones I've seen so far are good. Now we get all of them working together, which will be even better.

3. The Hunger Games

Yes, this comes in third. I know people will find that odd, or perhaps insane. Still, it's on my to see list. Why? Because it's The Hunger Games which is one my favorite series. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out in the movie compared to the book, and if the next two books will have movies as well.

What about you? What are your top movies?

  1. Hello, Varon! I LOVE these movies. I'm not so sure about the Hobbit. I loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but I never read the books, so I'm kind of...lukewarm for the Hobbit. I am SO excited for the Avengers movie, and the Hunger Games, which I read a couple of months ago. I think I read somewhere that the Hunger Games IS making four movies, so I guess they're making one a two-parter like Harry Potter.

    1. Howdy.

The Hobbit is a lot easier to read than Lord of the Rings. It's not as 'heavy' I guess.

That'll be interesting. Mockingjah might be able to be split in two.

Yeah, the Avengers is looking awesome.

John Carter gets an honorable mention, but I'm a bit hesitant because they seemed to have changed a lot from the books.

  2. I'm looking forward to "The Hobbit" as well. Other than that, the only other movies I'm looking forward to are "John Carter" and "Sherlock Holmes"...except "Sherlock Holmes" already came out...

  3. John Carter looks good as well. As I mentioned, I'm just a bit nervous about it though.

I haven't seen the Sherlock movies.

  4. I'm gonna order the books from the library to read them; but yeah, I understand how you'd be nervous.

They're pretty good. Not very much like the books at all, but movie-wise, they're brilliant.

  5. Just saw 'October Baby'. Amazing film. I am still over-the-top excited for The Avengers.

After 'The Avengers', I'd really like to see Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, which are coming out. Spoilers and confirmation at these sites:

I haven't seen The Hunger Games yet, to my dismay. I am also anxiously awaiting The Dark Knight Rises, because an actor I like is in it.

  6. I haven't seen "October Baby" yet, but I might see it eventually.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to those as well.
I'm hoping to see the Hunger Games this Friday.

Dark Knight Rises looks interesting, have you seen the other two Batman movies that Nolan directed?

    1. Yes, I have seen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight - although I watched the second one before the first one - and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I think that they're great re-boots, compared to stuff like 21 Jump Street and Green Hornet.

  7. That's cool. I haven't seen Batman Begins yet. The Dark Knight is really good, I agree.
